I'm Officialy Jobless.

Well, last Friday was my last day with Archstone. The project I was hired for in August of 2005 is slowly coming to completion. So much so that last year I went to part time from home which enabled me to go back to school and graduate this past May from college. But the work load has gotten so low it wasn't able to keep me employed but only less than part time. And I was hoping to have a new full time position by now. So I am officially jobless. I have been searching, but I'm holding out for what I hope is the job the Lord wants me to have. I would love to find a position in my field of study, but where ever the Lord wants me, I'll go. In the meantime, I'll continue to be a stay at home wife. I've always wanted to be a stay at home wife, but it doesn't help us get ahead and save if I don't work full time. So I ask you to keep me and my job search in your prayers. I've been here before and the Lord sent me to the best place for me at the time because He knew what I was about to go through and what I would need. I have complete confidence and trust He will do it again.

The Latest

Roger and I tried a new church this weekend, Austin New Church. Our friends Christian and Michelle and their children attend there. We really liked it and plan to check it out again. We especially like that it's only five minutes from our house at Akins High School.

Roger has his first MRI after coming home for good tonight at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio. Please keep him in your prayers for a clear MRI and safety in traffic. He has to leave at 4:30 p.m. to get there in time.

Roger & I had some revelations regarding my job search and his future work situation this weekend due to friends pointing some things out that we completely missed with our current life situation. It made a huge difference for us because we realized we don't really need to work for "the man" like we always have and thought we'd always have to. I love working from home and would love to continue doing that. I know I'll have to have interaction with people so I'm inquiring about volunteering at a local museum. We've got some ideas in the works and we'll be filling you in on the results in the future.

Just a note on what we're reading lately. Our friend Cynthia lent Walking with God by John Eldredge to me this weekend. I can't wait to start it. The cover says, "Talk to Him. Hear from Him. Really." That's what I need right now. I also got Roger Quiet Strength, Tony Dungy's memoir. I'm sure he'll like it. It's written by a football coach! Anyone can tell he's a believer. I've always been impressed by his demeanor and leadership style.

Updates and Pictures

Thank you all for praying for Xavier. He had a little improvement yesterday so please keep the prayers coming. You can read all about his journey on Amanda and Buddy's blog. Thanks again.

I received notification this morning that although I was qualified for the museum position I really desired, I was not among the highest qualified candidates so my application was not referred to the library and museum. I am disappointed, mainly because this was the only position in Austin that was remotely close to my interests. Now I will have to settle for some job I'm not excited about and could care a less about. That's the kind of job you want to go to every day. I knew with this position I would be excited every day because I'd be learning something new and something I wanted to learn and it would help me in the long run. Man, I'm going to need some prayer in this department.

Also, I posted pictures from some recent adventures: Roger's niece Ariana's 3rd birthday party, my newest niece Chloe Grace, my nephew William's recent visit and I'm working on the Hawaii pictures. I'll let you know when those are done. They'll take a while. Enjoy!
